Download Instructions:
Be sure your AS/400 or iSeries is at OS level of V5R1 or higher.

Option 1: Download CD image file (ISO):

STEP 1: On your PC:
  1. Download EDPINSTALL_ISO.zip (8.56MB) to your PC directory c:\ by right-clicking on the download button below and selecting "Save Target As...".

  2. Unzip the EDPINSTALL_ISO.zip file by double clicking on the file c:\EDPINSTALL_ISO.zip and select to extract all files into directory c:\.
    Note: The result of this step should be EDPINS.ISO and two PDF user's guides in the directory c:\.
  3. Use your CD burning software to extract and burn the EDPINS.ISO image onto the CD.
STEP 2: On the AS/400:
  1. Insert the CD-ROM into the optical device on your AS/400 or iSeries.
  2. Sign on as QSECOFR.
  3. At a command line, type the command LODRUN DEV(*OPT), press ENTER.
  4. PROCEED TO STEP 5.

Option 2: Download zip file, extract and ftp to AS/400:

STEP 1: On your PC:
  1. Download EDPINSTALL.zip (8.82MB) to your PC directory c:\ by right-clicking on the download button below and selecting "Save Target As...".

  2. Unzip the EDPINSTALL.zip file by double clicking on the file c:\EDPINSTALL.zip and select to extract all files into directory c:\.
    Note: The result of this step should be EDPINSTALL.SAVF and two PDF user's guides in the directory c:\.

STEP 2: On the AS/400:

  1. Create a save file on your iSeries or AS/400 by executing the command:
    CRTSAVF QGPL/EDPINSTALL

STEP 3: On your PC:

  1. Go to a DOS command prompt.
    Tip: Using Windows explorer click on the green “Start” box in the lower left part of your PC and select “Run…”. Next type "cmd" in the box and press ENTER. The DOS Prompt should now be displayed.
  2. Type ftp xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of your AS/400)
  3. Type your AS/400 user ID and press ENTER
  4. Type your AS/400 password and press ENTER
  5. Type "bin" (to switch to BINARY mode)
  6. Type PUT C:\EDPINSTALL.SAVF /QSYS.LIB/QGPL.LIB/EDPINSTALL.SAVF
  7. Once you see the message "Transfer Complete", the save file should be on your AS/400
  8. To exit from the DOS prompt type "quit" and press ENTER. Now type "exit" and press ENTER

STEP 4: On the AS/400

  1. Restore library EDPINS from the save file QGPL/EDPINSTALL by typing the command:

    RSTLIB SAVLIB(EDPINS) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(QGPL/EDPINSTALL), Press ENTER

  2. Complete the update process by typing the command:

    CALL PGM(EDPINS/A91AAAPG00), Press ENTER

STEP 5: Installation Screens

After a brief delay, the product install screen will appear.

  1. Enter the name of the AS/400 or iSeries libraries to install the product into or leave the defaults and the software will create the new libraries for product installation.

  2. Enter the name of a user profile that will own the product objects. Note: Default values are provided for basic installation, however it is recommended the values be considered prior to continuing with the install process.

    The install process may be cancelled by pressing F3.

  3. Press the F19 key (shift + F7) to begin the install process.

    During the install process various prompts may appear, such as the creation of new libraries verification prompt, object ownership verification prompt and a duplicate object notification prompt. If you receive any prompts and want to cancel the install process, press F12 from the prompt screen to restart the install.

  4. An information message appears when the install procedure is complete.

    Your software installation is now complete

    To start using your EDIPro’s software:

    Add the appropriate libraries to your library list by typing the following, replacing these library names with those you have chosen, if applicable:

    ADDLIBLE LIB(EDPAPSYS), Press ENTER
    ADDLIBLE LIB(EDPAPDB), Press ENTER
    ADDLIBLE LIB(EDPAPPTF), Press ENTER

    SUPER, Press ENTER

  5. Enter an option on the menu. When prompted for a key, go to www.edipros.net/Key to acquire a 30-day trial key.
